Fix common Android issues on Android - Data Roaming, Mobile Data Switching OFFUpdated 24 days ago
If your Simify eSIM isn’t getting data on your Android device, it’s usually due to one of these settings:
Data Roaming is OFF
Mobile Data Switching / Auto Data Switching is ON
Here’s how to fix both quickly. 👇
✅ 1. Turn ON Data Roaming for your Simify eSIM
Your eSIM needs Data Roaming ON to connect to local networks abroad.
Without it, you’ll see “No internet”, “No service”, or slow data.
How to enable it (Samsung / Pixel / most Androids):
Open Settings
Tap Connections or Network & Internet
Tap SIMs / SIM Manager
Select your Simify eSIM
Turn Data Roaming → ON
⭐ Note: This is safe - Simify eSIMs do not add roaming fees.
⚠️ Important: Turn OFF Data Roaming on your home SIM
Your home carrier may charge high roaming fees.
To avoid unexpected charges:
Go to Settings
Tap SIMs / SIM Manager
Select your home SIM
Turn Data Roaming → OFF
Only your Simify eSIM should have roaming enabled.
✅ 2. Turn OFF Mobile Data Switching / Auto Data Switching
When this setting is ON, your phone may switch back to your home SIM, causing:
No data
Slow or unstable speeds
Activation issues
How to turn it OFF:
Go to Settings
Tap Network & Internet → SIMs
Look for “Auto Data Switching”, “Switch data services automatically”, or “Allow data switching”
Turn it OFF
(Names vary slightly across devices, but the option is always in the SIM settings.)
🔧 Optional: Set your Simify eSIM as the active data SIM
Go to Settings → SIMs / Mobile Networks
Tap Preferred SIM for Mobile Data
Select your Simify eSIM
✨ After updating your settings
Toggle Airplane Mode ON → OFF to refresh your network connection.
Your eSIM should now connect normally.
