I think I accidentally activated at homeUpdated 24 days ago
Good news, in most cases, you can’t accidentally activate your eSIM while at home 🎉
Your Simify eSIM will only activate once your phone connects to a mobile network in a covered country.
This means:
Scanning the QR code does not activate your plan
Adding the eSIM to your phone does not start the validity
Your plan will only begin once you’re physically in a destination included in your eSIM’s coverage
So even if you’ve already installed it, nothing is used up at home.
✅ BUT — what if your home country is included in the eSIM coverage?
(Some plans, like Global 111, cover many countries — including the one where you live.)
In that case, your eSIM could activate at home only if the line is turned ON.
To avoid early activation before travelling, simply keep the eSIM switched OFF until you fly.
🔧 How to keep your eSIM OFF
📱 On iPhone / iPad
Go to Settings
Tap Mobile Data (or Cellular)
Select your Simify eSIM
Toggle Turn On This Line → OFF
📱 On Android (Samsung/Pixel)
Go to Settings
Tap Connections or Network & Internet
Open SIM Manager / SIMs
Select your Simify eSIM
Toggle the switch OFF
💡 Keep your primary SIM (your usual number) ON as normal.
✈️ When you arrive in your destination country
Turn your Simify eSIM ON
Set Mobile Data to your Simify eSIM
Turn Data Roaming ON
Wait for the eSIM to connect - and you’ll be online in seconds ✅
Your plan will only start once you’re connected in a covered destination.
