My hotspot isn’t workingUpdated 3 days ago


If your hotspot or personal hotspot isn’t working while using your Simify eSIM, it’s usually related to your device settings or APN configuration. Here’s how to fix it depending on your device.


Before you start

Please make sure:

  • Your eSIM is installed and has data working on your device.

  • You are sharing hotspot ONLY from the device where the eSIM is installed.



📱 iPhone (iOS) - How to fix hotspot issues

On iOS, hotspot often stops working if the APN is missing or incorrect.

1. Check or update your APN

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Mobile / Cellular

  3. Tap Simify eSIM

  4. Tap Mobile Data Network

  5. Under Personal Hotspot, enter the correct APN for your product (list below)

Important:
On iPhone you may need to enter the APN three times:

  • Mobile Data

  • LTE Setup

  • Personal Hotspot

Make sure all three match the APN for your eSIM.

2. Restart your iPhone

Once the APN is saved, restart your device.

3. Try enabling hotspot again

Go to Settings → Personal Hotspot and enable Allow Others to Join.



🤖 Android (Samsung, Pixel & others) - How to fix hotspot issues

On Android, hotspot problems usually come from APN settings not applying automatically.

1. Update or add your APN manually

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Network & Internet / Connections

  3. Tap SIMs / Mobile Networks

  4. Select your Simify eSIM

  5. Tap Access Point Names (APN)

  6. Tap the existing APN or add a new one

  7. Enter ONLY the APN field (leave the rest blank)

  8. Save

2. Restart your device

This ensures the new APN is fully applied.

3. Try hotspot again

Go to Hotspot & Tethering and enable it.



🧩 Still not working?

Some devices or local networks may block hotspot temporarily.
Try toggling:

  • Airplane Mode ON → OFF

  • Mobile Data OFF → ON

If none of this works, contact us - we can check your eSIM’s activation status.
