Can I Install My eSIM Before I Fly Overseas?Updated 13 days ago
There's a couple parts to firing up one of our eSIMs š„š±
ā”ļø Thereās the installation and the activation š
Installation:
By this we mean scanning the QR code itself and seeing the eSIM appear in your phoneās SIM menu. While scanning, your phone might prompt you to āactivateā ā go ahead and click that. No worries! This doesnāt start your plan ā itās just part of the install process.
If you need help double-checking whether itās in there or not, check out how to find it by following the steps here š This step can be completed either in Australia, or abroad.
š This is as far as you can go in the activation process until you land in your destination country! If you do scan your QR code at home, be sure to turn your eSIM OFF until you land āļø
Activation:
Your eSIM canāt complete activation until it has a local network to connect to; it wonāt work anywhere else š This also means your plan wonāt start until this step is completed, so no need to worry about accidentally activating it unless youāre in a country thatās covered by the eSIM š¶
