Using Your Travel eSIM with Your Home SIM
When you purchase a new travel eSIM, you can either keep your home SIM active on your device or remove it entirely.
Many travellers choose to keep their home SIM in their phone — but there are a few key steps to make sure you avoid roaming charges while abroad:
Set your travel eSIM as your Mobile Data line.
This ensures your eSIM handles all data while travelling, so your home SIM won’t use any data overseas. (If you're wondering which one is your eSIM in your SIM settings, it is the one without a phone-number since Simify eSIMs are data-only.)Keep your home SIM as your Default Voice Line.
This lets you receive calls and texts to your home number. Receiving texts is usually free, but receiving or making calls can incur roaming charges — so it’s best to double-check with your provider.Turn off Data Roaming and Mobile Data Switching for your home SIM.
This prevents your phone from accidentally using mobile data from your home network while abroad.

If you follow these steps, you’ll be able to use data with your Simify eSIM while keeping your home number active for important messages like bank verification codes or one-time passwords — all without roaming fees.
If you still receive roaming notifications from your provider even after turning off data roaming, open your provider’s app and turn off international roaming completely or contact them directly. (Keep in mind that doing so may also stop SMS from coming through.)
